Last year's Kvitfjell winner takes Kitzbuhel DH

Sun. 22. January

Number one and two from last year's downhill in Kvitfjell, Dominik Paris and Valentin Giraud Moine (photo), came in as one and two in the Kitzbuhel downhill on Saturday. The course was pure ice, but the result list shows a very tight race. The Norwegian favourites Kjetil Jansrud and Aleksander Aamodt Kilde did not perform up to their best, but Adrian Smiseth Sejersted did his best WC downhill ever coming in as number 15, best of the Norwegian Attacking Vikings. In the absence of Aksel Lund Svindal we then still have three racers who can reach top results in the speed events in Kvitfjell in the end of February.

This weekend in Kitzbuhel the Norwegian results were not as good as expected, with no one on the podium, as Henrik Kristoffersen went out in the first run of the slalom. However, the rest of the slalom team did their job with 4th, 9th and 12th place. Leif Kristian Haugen's fourth Place, 4/100 Seconds from the podium, is his best WC slalom result ever.
