Svindal wins his first DH in Wengen

Sat. 16. January

Aksel Lund Svindal continues his series of downhill victories this season winning the classic downhill in Wengen 0,19 seconds before Hannes Reichelt from Austria. Svindal and Reichelt will be an interesting duel in Kvitfjell in March. These two were almost a separate category with 1,52 seconds from Svindal to Klaus Kröll from Austria being the third man on the podium. Behind Kröll it was very tight, and some racers were a bit unlucky with the weather conditions. Kjetil Jansrud had to wait several minutes at start because og fog and ended in twelvth position.

We were a little puzzled by the announcements from NRK radio and TV concluding the race a long time before Aleksander Aamodt Kilde finished 15 from start number 48.
